All Gantri lighting products are built around four components necessary for the product to function: an LED bulb, bulb socket, cable cord, and metal weight. Each has corresponding considerations to make when developing the 3D model for your design.
The light source of your product.
A totally exposed bulb is uncomfortably bright to be around, so when designing your light, be sure to obscure the bulb in some way to protect users from direct glare. Keep in mind that surfaces of your design must be at least 1.75" from the bulb to allow for easy installation and removal of the bulb as well as to keep the product cool. To get a feel for how your bulb will look in your design, a placeholder model of the bulb has been included in the modeling starter kits available on our platform.
Houses the light bulb and connects it to the power cable.
The different modeling starter kits available online all have a pre-modeled cavity intended for this socket, holding it in place. Instead of modeling the cavity yourself, download and design around the socket cavity included in the starter kits to ensure your product can accommodate for the bulb socket. There is also a placeholder model of this component included in each starter kit so you can better envision how it might be installed.
Keeps the product balanced and helps channel the cable cord up to the bulb socket for many designs.
Like the bulb socket, each modeling starter kit includes a cavity specifically designed for this weight. Make sure this feature is merged into the bottom of your 3D model. Fell free to choose between vertical and horizontal cavities.
Transfers power from the outlet to the bulb and allows the user to dim the light on and off.
There are two primary things to consider when designing around the cable:
Each design needs a circular entryway allowing the cable to enter the light. The circle should be 6.75mm in diameter.
Each design also needs passages for the cable to travel along to get to the bulb socket. Passages should be .7mm in diameter and not undergo any sharp turns or else the cable will get stuck during assembly.
These dimensions ensure the entryway hugs the cord on the way in and the passages allow enough space for the cord to travel within the product with ease.
